We are looking into this for 2025! Materials science is fascinating... In addition to traditional plastic-based vegan leather, scientists are developing leathers made of mushrooms, pineapples, and "real" leather grown in a lab (like what they're doing with lab-grown meat).
We also recognize that our vegan customers (like you!) would know what's good. Do you have any recommendations of vegan leathers, or shoe brands using high-performing vegan leathers, that we should check out?

CF+ (Cruelty Free +) material used in Ahinsa shoes. Adapts to a foot, doesn’t get scuffed and doesn’t really need maintenance.
Most vegan menswear brands source vegan PU leather from Italy. I’ve bought products from some of those brands (Like Will’s London and Brave Gentleman) and the quality of the PU leather is better than the mass produced animal leather I used to wear in my pre-vegan days.
There’s a newer plastic-free leather alternative called Mirum that might also be worth looking into.
Cactus and pineapple leather are cool, but I don’t think they would work well for the kinds of shoes you make.
This sounds great! I’d love to see a vegan option, especially if it’s durable and biodegradable like regular leather.
SENTIENT is a Mexican company with fine vegan leather goods (some cactus-based). Might be a shoe application that makes sense.
I would love to know when you make a vegan based leather shoe.
