Use & Care
General Footwear Instructions
To keep your footwear performing and looking its best, please follow these care and usage guidelines:
Wearing & Fit
-
Do not roll or fold your shoes (e.g., into a “ball” or “taco”). To assess flexibility, wear them as intended.
-
Your shoes come pre-laced using our patented Double Helix Method, designed for easy adjustment, reduced wear and tear, and a uniquely stylish look.

We recommend tying your laces with the Berluti Knot. When used with elastic laces, this transforms your shoes into slip-ons—convenient without compromising appearance.
How-to guide › -
Tight fit? Some models include removable inserts—try removing them for a more accommodating feel.
-
Loose in the midfoot or heel? Try tongue pads or heel grips to improve fit. These solutions are fully compatible with our return policy.

Care & Maintenance
- Avoid exposure to damaging elements such as mud, excessive moisture, or chemicals.
- If your shoes come into contact with these, clean them immediately to prevent lasting damage.
-
After each wear, insert wooden shoe trees to maintain shape and manage moisture.
Explore shoe trees ›-
Tip: The heel of the shoe tree does not need to be fully inserted. The toe portion should snugly fill the front of the shoe.
-
Rotation & Drying
-
Allow your shoes to rest for at least 24 hours between wears to air out and recover.
-
If your shoes get wet, let them dry naturally and slowly at room temperature. Do not apply direct heat, which can cause irreparable damage.
Dress Shoes & Boots: Specific Care
-
We recommend beginning with a professional shoe shine to set a strong base.
-
For ongoing upkeep, touch up scuffs or wear with Saphir Médaille d’Or Shoe Cream.

For major events (e.g., weddings, interviews, presentations), take your shoes back to a professional one to two weeks beforehand to ensure they look their best.
Safety Boots: Specific Guidelines
-
Please confirm with your employer that these boots meet all safety and compliance requirements.
Safety standards information › -
These boots are water-resistant, not waterproof, and designed specifically for Firm Ground conditions.
-
For wet or soft ground, please wear boots built for those environments.
Nubuck Leather Care
-
The Nubuck leather is treated at the tannery to be naturally water-resistant—no initial protective treatment is needed.
Learn about Nubuck care › -
Over time, if waterproofing diminishes, you may apply a Nubuck- or suede-specific waterproofing product.
⚠️ Do not use products intended for smooth leather. -
All waterproofing products will darken the leather and alter the nap. Always test on a hidden area first to ensure the new appearance is acceptable before treating the entire boot.
Safety Reminder
-
If your boots show signs of damage, stop using them immediately. For your protection, switch to an undamaged pair as soon as possible.
