HIRING: Outlet Store Manager (Work From Home, Set Own Hours)


Carets is looking to hire a Manager for our Outlet Store



I think this job would be ideal for a Stay-at-Home Parent with a spare bedroom who wants a part-time job that they can do from home and at their own pace.


A shoe repair shop with extra storage space.



It would be nice if you were near San Diego, CA (our HQ) or near Ogden, UT (our warehouse). But anywhere in the USA is fine.



You will be managing our Outlet Store. 

Step 1: Receive shoes.

On a monthly basis, my warehouse will forward you all of our shoe returns that are no longer in brand-new condition, and cannot be added back into regular inventory.


Step 2: Tag the not-brand-new shoes with a unique identifier.

The format is Uxxxx, where “x” are numbers. Use the next number available. If the last number used was U1234, then tag the current pair as U1235. 


Step 3: Create a new Product Page on Shopify for this pair.

I will give you access to our Shopify. 


Step 4: Identify the defects.


“This pair shows normal wear at the flexpoint.”

“R shoe L toe has a very light scuff."


Step 5: Fix the defects

If it’s something that can be fixed, do it. Often times, the next step will take care of it.


Step 6: Clean, condition, and shine.

To get the shoes ready for photographs, and to wow the customer when they open the box.


Step 7: Photograph the shoes in the 2 standard shots



Step 8: Photograph the defects.

Note: If the defect is visible in the 2 standard shots from the previous step, i.e. “normal wear at the flexpoint”, you don’t need to take an extra photo.

Step 9: Update Product Page

  1. Make sure all the product info is accurate
  2. Give them a price. I will give you a pricing formula to do this.
  3. Set the product as Available 


Step 10: Store them.

Store them until they are purchased. 


Step 11: Fulfill them.

  1. Log in to Shopify once a day to see if any Outlet Store orders came in.
  2. If yes, please package and label them.
  3. You will ship USPS Priority Mail. You don't have to drive to the post office or even leave the house, because you can request free pickups!



  • You will be working independently, without supervision.
  • You will need to work at least once a day on business days. But you get to decide when in the day you do it.
  • I will trust you to self-report your hours. 
  • I will work closely with you in the beginning to make sure you're all set up.
  • All equipment and supplies will be provided for you. 
  • I encourage you to make suggestions on how to improve processes.

  • I will check in once a week to see how I can help you.


    Since this Outlet Store will take up a room in your property, you will be compensated for both Labor and Rent.

    Labor: Local Minimum Wage x 125-150%

    Rent: Local Market Price x 50-75%

    I'm offering slightly below market price because our shoes are less of a hassle than a human tenant.
