How does your 365-day "Test Drive" policy work?

What is your return policy?

- Care for your Carets by using a shoe cream that allows for conditioning, shine, and water resistance. We recommend Saphir Médaille D'Or Shoe Cream which is made from all natural ingredients.
- Use a shoe horn to slip on your shoes whenever possible.
- After wearing your Carets, properly store them by slipping your complimentary shoe trees inside to help maintain their shape.
- As with all leather, try to avoid water, mud, snow, and salt. If your Carets get dirty, clean them off as soon as possible.
- Be sure to rotate your Carets with other shoes, as even the nicest dress shoes can wear out from constant use.
- Despite their comfort, try to refrain from exercising in your Carets!

How do I know what size I wear in Carets?
Do you carry half sizes?
We do not offer other sizes at the moment. We've found that the vast majority of our customers fit in the sizes offered if they use our sizing guide or email us for help with sizing. Only four customers (as of September 2018) in our company’s history have ever returned a shoe because they needed a perfect half size. If you need help deciding size, feel free to Contact Us.
Do you carry shoes in Wide, Medium, or Narrow widths?
All of our shoes are Wide width. Many customers who have Medium or even Narrow width feet find a comfortable fit with our shoes by sizing down. Visit our Sizing Guide to figure out which size would work best for you.

Combine the best of both worlds with Carets
I love my Carets! I now have 3 pairs (one of each style/color)
look forward to wearing them and am not in a hurry to take them off at the end of the day. How many shoes can one say that about? I work in an office, so looking professional is important and the Carets fulfill that need well. No more foot pain from wearing conventional dress shoes! Very happy! I had a lot of trouble initially with the shoes making “popping sounds” as I was walking, but eventually realized this was due to the socks I was wearing. Changing over to ribbed merino wool socks solved this completely.”
Excellent shoes, excellent customer service!
I have always worn minimalist/barefoot/zero drop shoes to the gym and they have helped me a ton with knee issues, posture, and form. I am a full time musician and work many gigs that require a black suit with dress shoes. There are times when we have a 90-120 minute set to get through and my shoulders, lower back, knees, and feet **** me while standing, doing choreography, and wearing a guitar around my shoulder all night with more traditional dress shoes. I tried cushioning, different brands, support, etc, fully knowing that “barefoot” is the way to go and that all those hacks went against the concept. I always thought, “if only someone made even just decent looking dress shoes that apply the same concepts as my gym shoes, I’d be in heaven!” I went to Google and found some *okay* looking options that I knew likely wouldn’t pass without anyone noticing that they’re different or funny looking. Until I found Carets! The design was super clever, they looked “normal”, and they looked GOOD! I was hesitant at first due to price, but figured that this was an investment in my longer term health and comfort while doing what I do for a living. So I went ahead and ordered 2 pairs of different sizes to see what would fit better. I went with the Zetone plain toe in black. When they came in, I tried both on, and they both felt great! My whole body was just so relaxed while wearing them. I went with the smaller of the two sizes only because although the larger was a bit roomier, they were definitely too long for me. But man, the COMFORT I was in was actually thrilling. I couldn’t wait to wear them to work. When I finally did, the whole gig went by and it was a breeze! Granted, the new leather was a bit stiff and dug into the back of my heel a bit for the first wear. I’m sure it’ll stretch a bit over time. Best part was the complete lack of “clown shoe” comments from anyone in my band. The package they come in is PREMIUM to say the least. You get a drawer style shoe box, shoe trees, and individual bags for each shoe. The elastic laces might be off putting to some folks at first, but they’re super convenient for slipping on and off. Five stars might seem drastic, however, this company has solved so many issues and pains I’ve been experiencing during work for YEARS. The thing that sent me over the moon was their customer service. They’re not kidding about easy returns. I emailed and explained that I ordered two sizes to try (they recommend this in the FAQ, if it can be afforded) and I was going to return a pair. No problem, we’ll send a label, send them back in the box you got them in. Now, I may have been extra picky, but this was the first time I’ve ever spent this much money on ANY shoe and I wanted to be perfectly happy. On the pair that I decided to keep, it seemed as though there was a very light “brush stroke” on the leather along the bottom of the left shoe where it meets the sole, and it was a lighter black than the rest of the shoe. I emailed, they responded with options. This issue is a rare occurrence, but they said I could exchange them, they could send me a complimentary shoe conditioner to buff it out, or they’d reimburse me if I took the shoes to a cobbler to condition and buff it out. I opted for an exchange, they were happy to oblige, and immediately shipped them to me even though I hadn’t shipped the original pair back yet! Amazing! The refund for the larger pair was problem free and the new pair came in and they’re PERFECT. Great product, excellent service (in a time when I’m lucky to get even good customer service). Thank you, Carets!
Excellent customer service
I just want to preface this review by saying that I have hobbit feet. That might be a small embellishment, but I have very flat, very wide feet, so finding a good dress shoe to accommodate my feet has been incredibly difficult. I ordered a pair of Oxfords from Carets, and unfortunately, I had to send them back. I loved the zero-drop heel, but they were just too narrow for my hobbit feet. The good part about the whole experience was the excellent customer service. After getting in touch with the company, they sent me a self-addressed postage label, and I was able to return my gently used Oxfords within a day. I then received a complete refund once the shoes arrived at their final destination and were inspected. I don't want to dissuade anyone from buying from Carets because most people don't have feet as wide as I do. The shoes are beautiful, and if you want zero-drop, this company has fantastic choices. It just didn't work out for me.
THE only minimalist dress shoe available
I shouldn't say these are the only minimalist dress shoe, but the Carets are the only NORMAL looking dress shoes that are also minimalist/barefoot/zero drop. These shoes are extremely high quality, the price is justified. They are extremely comfortable and just plain look good! I struggled for years to find a minimalist dress shoe and while there a few other out there, none of them looked right. Caret has a home run with their shoes. If you are seeking a minimalist shoe that you can wear with a suit (or jeans!), look no further!
Just one complaint
Love them so far, only gripe is that for me, the height of the shoe is just a little too tall and bites into my ankle just below the bones on either side if my feet aren't perfectly perpendicular to the ground. I'm going to continue the break in and see if it's just newness. If be happier with a half size down, but not a major issue.
